After returning from our trip to Big Bend National Park in January, we settled in for the long process of building our forever home.

We broke ground in early March and despite the very slow start, we are now to a point where it is finally taking shape! Despite the monstrous list of things left to be done, I feel like we are halfway through this build. We are ready to start this next chapter and regularly talk about how weird and “different” things are going to be moving back into a Sticks-N-Bricks house after 6 1/2 years in an RV… For example, I will no longer have to flush a toilet with a foot pedal, or that I might actually be able to hear the TV even when the AC is on!!… Also, I will no longer feel like the house is going to fall apart every time Chris “plops” down on the couch… and I can’t forget the slamming of the RV door!! Really gonna miss that slamming door (insert eye roll here)! And it’s definitely going to be weird having more than 5 minutes of hot water in the shower… NO more military showers for me!!!!
Despite our excitement for the new normal, we are not saying goodbye to RV travel. These past 6 years, despite the hardships of full-time RV life, it has been worth every minute! We have traveled from California to North Carolina, from the Gulf Coast of Texas to South Dakota… I have hiked hundreds and hundreds of miles in the most beautiful places… I have hugged the ancient trees at Sequoia National Park and climbed the Black Hills, I found the Alien Throne hidden in the vast deserts of New Mexico and walked in the Rio Grande River. I learned that when a road has a sign that says “Snow Chains Required”, don’t ignore it… And I have definitely learned to take life a little bit slower and enjoy the journey!
So, with the house build and us staying put during this process… you may be wondering what the heck I am doing with my time. Well, I closed my RV Tank Cleaning Business, so that’s not keeping me busy at all… BUT…
Back in late Nov 2024, I started selling my stained glass art and opened a booth at a local Antique/Uniques store in downtown Nacogdoches. Every month, my booth grows and I am constantly creating new pieces to replace the pieces that sell!

I’ve been making stained glass art for over 10 years, I’ve sold a few pieces in the past but never imagined it would ever get to this point! After I quit nursing, I lost purpose… I lost a part of myself… but stained glass has given me purpose again in something that I love doing!

And that’s it… that’s all that’s been going on since January. If you want to see more of my glass work or follow my glassing journey, follow my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61569623553140! I’ll be back with a house update once we make some progress, until then, I’m daydreaming of fall!!
