Week 11 brought me a few more challenges to overcome!
First challenge, being “under-the-weather”. There are 2 types of people in this world… Those that call in for the slightest sniffle and those who come to work even with a 104 degree fever. I’m the latter, I won’t call in sick unless I am dying!
I wasn’t feeling great Tuesday and by Tuesday night, I knew I was in for rough couple of days.
Second Challenge, Wednesday was a scheduled work day and also my call day! I was not going to let this department down by calling in when I was technically still “functional” and afebrile. And with that, Wednesday turned into the longest day on record! When your not feeling great and your job is as demanding as a Nurses, the days seem long and tough anyways but add on the “call” to that, it was complete torture! My regular schedule hours went as usual, worked my butt off but thankfully, the tech and charge nurse really stepped up to help me knowing that I was running on half speed. Although I had to ask them for a little more help than usual that morning, I still appreciated that they listened and stepped up to actually do it! The real kicker came when I worked straight through my regularly schedule hours and into my call hours!
This department has the Nurse work both as a Nurse and a Tech for all advanced cases…. And with a late day ERCP scheduled after hours, my responsibilities just kept on coming.
This was one of the hardest, most advanced ERCP cases I have ever worked and after 2.5 hours of tireless team work between me and the Doctor, we were successful and provided relief for a patient who had had failed ERCPs in the past! A proud moment for both the Doctor and myself but I was so exhausted by the end of it, I could hardly see straight! And the worst part, my night still wasn’t over! During our case, a call case was being added on after the ERCP. I didn’t leave work until 9pm. 14 hours straight of non-stop work while feeling absolutely horrible… I was so incredibly grateful to of not gotten called back in after that! I survived the rest of the week, but still trying to recover from this cold and lack of sleep. My 3rd call night was definitely one I don’t want to repeat!
Other than work, getting ready for Christmas has filled my time! Over the last few years, I have always tried to support those who make hand-made treasures and shop at local or small businesses while on location.
And with my old boss practically buying up every piece of stained glass I make, I couldn’t wait to add one of her Crocheted creations to my home! My Xmas tree never looked so small… lol… I have the perfect spot picked out in the New Rig for this adorable snowman!

Supporting friends, neighbors, and small businesses is something that I have always LOVED doing. One of a kind creations that tell a story and directly supports the artist! There is no greater gift!
Next week we could potentially be getting our new RV! As we anxiously await its delivery, we are preparing both mentally and physically for the big day! It is going to be a logistical nightmare but when the time comes, we are going to just take it one step at a time! Next week, I could be posting pics of my new home… how crazy is that!! Stay tuned to see if The Imagine gets upgraded and where this crazy amazing Travel Nurse adventure takes me next!
Your stained glass is appreciated by everyone who has received a piece. I hope the snowman is enjoyed.
